Inmates Running the Asylum at Maine Principals’ Association

Maine is making national news again — for all the wrong reasons.

Here’s a headline that appeared on Fox News Digital last week:

Maine sports governing body says trans athletes can still compete in women’s sports despite Trump order

The Maine Principals Association is one of the scores of woefully woke taxpayer-funded nonprofits that sprang up in the Augusta swamp decades ago. Since 2013, MPA has been ordering Maine schools to allow gender-dysphoric male athletes to compete on girls’ teams and use girls’ restrooms and locker rooms.

MPA executive director Michael Burnham is doubling down on his defiance of biological reality and common sense. With a green light from Maine Department of Education commissioner Gender-Bender Makin, Burnham is telling school districts in Maine to ignore President Donald Trump’s executive order of February 5th, which prohibits schools that receive federal funds from imposing transgender madness on students, whether in the restrooms or on the athletic field.

Maine is joined by California and Minnesota in announcing that they will defy the executive order. Great company we’re keeping there, isn’t it?

Apparently, Burnham and Makin are betting that the loathsome Orange Man is bluffing, that he won’t follow through with terminating $250 million worth of federal education funds for Maine school districts.

They’re also assuming that US Attorney General Pam Bondi won’t drag them into federal court for discriminating against females under Title IX, the federal anti-discrimination statute enacted in 1972.

When that happens, Maine’s Attorney General — Aaron “Homewrecker” Frey — will be tasked with defending Maine’s decision to defy federal law. Frey, you will recall, can’t keep his hands off subordinate female employees in his own office, not even the married ones. It’s a Democrat thing — there were zero consequences for lover boy.

Frey’s defense of forcing female students to compete against and share toilet and shower facilities with mentally ill boys will rely on a flimsy legal foundation of absurdly circular definitions contained in amendments to the indecipherable Maine Human Rights Act: Maine’s Gender Bender Industrial Complex is a House of Cards – The Maine Wire.

While we await Frey’s day of reckoning and humiliation in federal court (Frey is gonna get fried!), you may want to consider turning up the heat on the gender-bender clown show.

File a complaint!

Here’s a video from Rep. Katrina Smith, explaining the simple process of lodging an official complaint with the Office of Civil Rights. Thank you, Katrina, for putting this information together in one place, and keeping it simple!

Rest assured that our team at Maine First Project will continue to recruit and train a grassroots army of activists to hold local school boards accountable to parents and taxpayers. We continue to build on the model and momentum of the recall election our volunteers spearheaded in Oxford Hills two years ago last month: Maine School Board Members Who Pushed Radical Gender Ideology Recalled by Paris Voters – The Maine Wire

Do you know of a local school board in your area that needs flipping? Let me know. We’re sifting through the data we have on nearly 200 school districts across the state in preparation for the June election cycle. You can help us focus on districts where we will have the best opportunities to elect back-to-basics conservatives.

A cautionary note: We dare not let up just because we have an ally in the White House. Now more than ever, it’s pedal to the metal.

Thanks again for all you do every day to restore Maine to The Way Life Should Be.

Best Regards,

Hon. Lawrence Lockman
Maine House of Representatives, 2012-2020

PS
Here’s how Fox News Digital summarized the precarious legal position Maine finds itself in:

Sarah Perry, a civil rights attorney who has extensive experience litigating Title IX issues, said that in addition to Trump’s executive order, these state athletic associations are also flouting directives from the Department of Education and previously established precedent from a slew of cases that challenged former President Joe Biden’s Title IX regulations allowing athletic eligibility to be determined by one’s preferred gender identity.

“Within six weeks [after Biden’s Title IX ruling] we had 11 federal lawsuits brought by 26 states, in addition to a handful of others – the Biden administration has lost every time,” Perry pointed out. “The most damning of their losses was the one out of the Eastern District of Kentucky, which just came out last month, and that was not just enjoining the rule, but vacating the rule. In other words, sending it literally to the trash heap as though it had never been made.”

Perry noted that besides the obvious risk of losing funding, these states also open themselves up to federal Title IX investigations, something she said could potentially force them to comply with Trump’s demands.

Good luck, Lover Boy Frey.

Pam Bondi and the new US Attorney for Maine are going to mop the floor with you in federal court.
