Do Maine Democrats have a death wish for their party?
Do they really believe Maine’s lying, dying Fake News media outlets can continue to prop up a political party that worships at the altar of the Transgender Supremacy cult?
As I reported last week, the rumor mill at the Colosseum on the Kennebec was buzzing with speculation that House Democrats were poised to censure Rep. Laurel Libby for daring to challenge their new state religion. Sure enough, the Grand Inquisitor himself, in the person of Rep. Ryan Fecteau, ascended the Speaker’s rostrum last Wednesday to preside over Rep. Libby’s blasphemy prosecution.
Libby’s sin consisted of posting on Facebook two widely circulated photos, side-by-side, of a male high-school athlete who competed as a male pole-vaulter last year but as a female this year. The magical transition propelled him from 5th place as a boy to 1st place as a self-proclaimed female.
In case you missed it, here’s the photo that ignited the firestorm:
The cult’s unwritten rules forbid posting a photo of a minor without permission from the minor — even a photo of a teenaged athlete taken at a public event where there’s no expectation of privacy.
In any case, the rule doesn’t apply to the cultists, only to the skeptics.
To no one’s surprise, Libby was convicted on a straight party-line vote by the majority Democrat kangaroo court. During her floor speech, she was repeatedly interrupted and gavelled down by Fecteau, at the urging of Democrat majority leader Rep. Matt Moonen, one of the more obnoxious members of the Rainbow Mafia that runs the Legislature.
After the guilty verdict was handed down, Fecteau summoned Rep. Libby to stand before him in the well of the House.
As he looked down contemptuously on the mother of five, Speaker Fecteau gave her one last chance to apologize to her colleagues and recant her heresy. When Libby declined the offer, he ordered that she be barred from voting or speaking on the floor of the House until she repents.
1960s feminists (Janet Mills?) might have called Fecteau a male chauvinist pig.
The spectacle in the House raises some questions:
- Are Fecteau and Moonen so drunk on the trans Kool-Aid that they’ve lost all self-awareness?
- Are they completely blind to the hideously bad optics they rolled out last week in the House chamber?
- Has this odd couple of misogynistic heterophobes lost its ability to “read the room” outside the Augusta swamp?
Fecteau in particular is not just a bully but a coward.
He deleted his X (formerly Twitter) account within days of the censure, in the wake of intense backlash from across the state and the nation.
Contrast the uproar over Laurel Libby’s Facebook post with the ho-hum reaction to this photo from Gov. Millstone’s re-election campaign in 2022:
Millstone’s appearance at an LGBTQ+ “Pride” event looks to me like shameless exploitation of minor children to advance a political campaign. Even if the parents gave consent for the photos, this is really creepy, isn’t it?
Have you no shame, Governor?
Shall I re-name her Governor Groomer?
Check out the familiar face in the upper right-hand corner. That’s Moonbat Moonen, standing next to his husband, Jeremy Kennedy, who serves as chief of staff to Gov. Millstone.
In closing…
My take-away from last week’s Statehouse drama — and the Donald’s smackdown of Millstone the week before — is entirely positive. The swamp critters are runnin’ scared.
We have the momentum going forward, with scores of school board seats around the state up for grabs between now and the end of June. While it’s great to have the wind at our back for the first time in a long time, make no mistake: we’re in this for the long haul. There is no magic bullet or quick fix to cure Maine’s cultural rot over the past few decades.
Our team at Maine First Project will continue to recruit, train, and coach school board candidates and volunteers. In the process, we are building a strong bench for legislative races next year, in 2028, and beyond.
Let me know if there’s a school district near you that needs to have some seats flipped.
In the meantime, you can blow the whistle on woke school districts in Maine by notifying the US Department of Education.
Click HERE to report illegal discriminatory practices (boys in girls’ sports and restrooms, DEI indoctrination, etc.) in Maine schools. The Department will use the information you submit to identify potential areas for investigation.
And now, let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
Best Regards,
Hon. Lawrence Lockman

PS Check out this press release from the US Department of Education:
February 26, 2025
Today, the U.S. Department of Education’s Acting Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Craig Trainor released the following statement about Maine’s compliance with Title IX:
“It is shameful that Governor Mills refuses to stand with women and girls. Her rejection of the antidiscrimination obligations that Maine voluntarily accepted when it agreed to receive federal taxpayer dollars is unlawful. OCR is still actively investigating Maine and one of its school administrative districts for apparent violations of federal law.
“To Maine education leaders who stand up for girls and will comply with Title IX in their school districts and campuses: The Trump Administration—and the American people—support you fully.”
