Lame Duck Gov. Millstone Drags ME Further Toward the Abyss

What great timing!

Maine’s lame-duck Governor Janet “Millstone” Mills just moved even further to the Left in her quest to win the Democrat primary for the US Senate seat currently held by Susan Collins.

Millstone announced earlier this week that she will allow a radical “sanctuary state” bill to become law without her signature.

As reported by The Maine Wire:

“The legislation, LD 1971, limits when state, county, and local police may investigate, detain, or search individuals solely for immigration enforcement purposes. The bill passed the Maine Legislature largely along party lines at the end of the June session.”

As you know, Maine needs more cooperation between state and federal law enforcement, not less. And it’s not just the pedophiles, the rapists, and the gang bangers who need to be rounded up and deported. It’s every single illegal alien in Maine, including those with driver’s permits issued by Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows.

How many more innocent victims must die before Shenna and Janet come to their senses?

The “sanctuary state” legislation will become law 90 days after the Legislature adjourns, usually by late April in an election year. It passed in June of this year on a mostly party-line 75 to 73 vote, with two Democrats in the House voting “No”.

Sen. Rick Bennett (R- Oxford) was the only Republican to vote in favor. Bennett has since left the GOP and is running for Governor as an Independent.

I wanted to make you aware of these facts, because next year’s midterm elections will be here before you know it. Maine First Project will be focused on competitive House districts where the incumbent Democrat voted for LD 1971. We believe many of these seats are ripe for flipping—if voters are aware of the incumbent’s vote to handcuff law enforcement officers in Maine.

This project will require substantial resources to be successful. I’m asking you to chip in $50, $100, $250, or whatever works for you, to ensure that we will be able to reach voters in swing districts with the truth about the current Legislature’s dereliction of duty. Click HERE to contribute.

Or if you prefer to send a check, make it out to Maine First Project, and mail it to PO Box 623, Brewer, Maine 02212.

Thanks for all you do every day to restore Maine to The Way Life Should Be!
