In the aftermath of the massive MAGA landslide that swept most of the country on November 5th, here’s my unsolicited advice:
Savor this period of relative calm following the seismic shift in America’s cultural and political landscape. Get some rest, give thanks, and prepare yourself for what promises to be a New Year like no other in our history.
The hard work of reclaiming Maine from the left-wing diversity fascists who dominate state government will resume in earnest when the 132nd Maine Legislature convenes in January. At the top of the majority party’s to-do list will likely be a plan to obstruct enforcement of federal immigration law:
At a September town hall meeting in Portland hosted by the Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition (MIRC), Maine ACLU lawyer Michael Kebede expressed his dismay that Maine has never passed legislation to bar state employees from “cooperating in deportation efforts” — despite Democrat control of the Governor’s office and both chambers of the Legislature for the past six years.
Given Donald Trump’s campaign promise to commence the mass deportation of illegal immigrants on Day One of his administration, I think it’s a safe bet that Gov. Millstone and her stooges in legislative leadership are salivating at the prospect of defying the loathsome Orange Man by throwing sand at the gears of the deportation machine.
Wouldn’t we love to have a roll-call vote on a bill that makes Maine a sanctuary state for illegals! Bring it on, Speaker Fecteau!
There isn’t a single legislator in either party who ran this year on a promise to protect illegal immigrants from deportation. Not one, even in Marxist Portland or Blue Hill.
Whatever sort of silly open-borders platform candidates ran on, it doesn’t matter. Here’s why, from our friends at the Federation for American Immigration Reform:
In any case, our team at Maine First Project is already looking forward to the 2026 midterm elections, when all of Maine’s 151 House seats and 35 Senate seats will be up for grabs again. We can’t think of a more potent wedge issue with which to pry progressives loose from their seats in Augusta.
Take note: any squishy Republican legislator who crosses the aisle to protect border-crashers can count on being primaried.
Finally, let’s remember who we’re talking about here. It was just last year that 100 or more illegal aliens who self-identify as “asylum seekers” blocked rush-hour traffic in downtown Portland to protest the alleged sub-standard quality of the free food and lodging provided by Maine taxpayers:
These unvetted non-citizen newcomers acquired the entitlement mentality pretty quickly, didn’t they?
I hope they are among the first to be sent back to wherever they came from. Awfully mean-spirited of me, isn’t it?
Buckle up and stay tuned.
Still gloating,
