You’ve got their attention now!
As you know, the folks in charge of masking and indoctrinating Maine school children aren’t used to being challenged.
They’re shocked, just shocked, that ANYONE would question their self-evident wisdom, expertise, and virtue. So, now they’re asking their woke allies in the Legislature to muzzle those pesky parents who keep showing up at school board meetings.
I kid you not!
These so-called “educators” are exactly who my friend David Horowitz was talking about when he said, “Inside every progressive is a totalitarian screaming to get out.”
LD 1939, An Act To Protect School Administration Officials from Harassment and Abuse, got a public hearing last week and is headed to a work session in committee TOMORROW, Friday, February 25th.
The bill is calculated to bully and intimidate concerned parents and grandparents who are pushing back against Leftist brainwashing in Maine’s dysfunctional K-12 public schools.
The educrats don’t want you to have a say in the education of your kids and grandkids!
It’s the same authoritarian arrogance that cost the far-Left the Governorship and the House of Delegates in Virginia last November – and Maine patriots need to make sure our corrupt and malevolent ruling class feels that same sting this November.
We need to act fast to encourage an “Ought Not to Pass” vote in committee before the bill moves to the House and Senate for roll call votes.
Call the Criminal Justice Committee clerk’s office at 207-287-1122 or send a very brief email to cjps@legislature.maine.gov. Let them know you expect members of the committee to vote against the bill on Friday — or whenever it comes up for a committee vote.
And please text my friend Rep. Dick Pickett at 207-500-9312 to let him know you appreciate his leadership in opposition to the bill. Dick is the Republican lead on the committee, and he is working to make sure his GOP colleagues hold the line.
It appears that Sen.Scott Cyrway of Albion — the only Republican state Senator on the committee — may be wavering. You can call or text Scott at 207-485-1308.
And if you’re in the mood for some cheap entertainment, check out the chorus of whining and whimpering from the parade of K-12 swamp critters who submitted testimony to the Criminal Justice committee. It’s a hoot.
Clearly, Shawn McBreairty has gotten under their skin!
Since he took the helm of Maine First Project’s Forgotten Parents Initiative last year, Shawn has been a bloodhound rooting out the disgusting K-12 indoctrination that’s the rule rather than the exception in Maine’s public schools.
They don’t mention him by name in their testimony, but it’s clear Shawn is a big burr under the saddle of the woke propagandists who are pushing LD 1939.
Check out this word salad of self-pity from Kelsey:
“In October 2021 I was named the 2022 Maine Teacher of the Year, an incredible honor when nominated by my own students that has allowed me the platform to be a vocal advocate for students and educators in Maine,” Stoyanova gushed while patting herself on the back. “Since then, I have been subject to verbal and written targeting behavior that has impacted me personally and professionally. For the first time, I considered leaving the profession that I have fully invested myself into. On local radio, in print, and even on national television, my first and last name has been used in attempts to discredit my knowledge and practice in the profession and damage my reputation by spreading misinformation and hyperbole around my philosophy of education and what occurs in my classroom.”
In HER classroom! You caught that, I’m sure.
But it’s not HER classroom, it belongs to the hardworking Mainers who pay her salary and entrust their children’s futures to her incompetent hands.
If Stoyanova wants to focus on “behavior,” perhaps she should focus on her own. A little self-awareness would go a long way here, Kelsey.
The reason her name is being dropped in local and national media is no mystery: the trigger was her X-rated recommended reading list for young students, filled with kinky sex and deranged gender-bender propaganda.
Did you notice that Stoyanova reminds us five times in her page-and-a-half letter that she was awarded the Maine Teacher of the Year “honor”? Good grief, she makes AOC look humble and intelligent!
But here’s the kicker. She is so puffed up, so narcissistic, and so deranged that she couldn’t help but bleat out this gem:
“For educators to be frequently called into question in a way that is not only not open to professional dialogue but also repeatedly and loudly undermines their expertise should not be tolerated.”
How DARE these peasants question my expertise! It’s intolerable!
Off with their heads!
Make no mistake, these totalitarian nitwits won’t be satisfied till you and I are bound and gagged in one of their re-education camps.
Again, the work session is Friday, February 25th at 1 pm, so we must act fast, before snotty snowflake Stoyanova and her groupies on the Criminal Justice committee push this gag order to the full Legislature.
Please call the Criminal Justice Committee’s phone line and let them know, politely, but in no uncertain terms, that parents have a fundamental right to oversee the education of their kids – and they must not be bullied or intimidated by lawmakers who take orders from union bosses.
Let them know you expect a NO vote on LD 1939. You can reach the clerk’s office at 207-287-1122.
Stoyanova wasn’t alone complaining about parents’ involvement in their kids’ lives.
MSMA executive director Steven Bailey is a career swamp critter who has cashed in on the Critical Race Theory bandwagon. Two years ago, he founded the Cultural Competence Institute to train teachers in the fine points of CRT indoctrination of students.
Bailey’s “non-profit” CCI charges $500 per head to brainwash teachers. A recent Zoom training had over 300 teachers from Kittery to Ft. Kent online, gobbling up Bailey’s CRT propaganda.
What a racket!
To put it bluntly, Bailey doesn’t give a hoot about students. His sole interest is protecting the cash cow he created.
Get a load of this steaming pile of compost:
“Elected school boards and the superintendents they employ to run our schools understand they are in the public eye and anticipate the decisions they make can be controversial,” Bailey complained. “That has been an understatement during the Covid pandemic when to keep students safe, the people we represent had to close schools, limit the length of school days and put restrictions on class sizes and gatherings. What we did not expect, on top of dealing with Covid, was a backlash based on misleading accusations about what we were teaching in schools around race relations, as part of our history as a country. Teaching that history is not only essential to a well-rounded curriculum that gives students perspective, it also is law.”
So many falsehoods in one statement.
The COVID measures Bailey lists did nothing to keep students safe. In fact, they only served to make the teachers’ unions happy at the expense of parents and students.
The only ones guilty of misleading are Bailey himself, his organization, K-12 school administrators, and the lying, dying Fake News media that cover for them.
The fact is, Critical Race Theory – or whatever Bailey wants to call it (Diversity, Inclusion, & Equity, or DIE) — is deeply embedded in Maine’s K-12 public schools. CRT is a hate-based ideology that indoctrinates students in the Big Lie of the Left, that racial and ethnic minorities are all oppressed — and that white people are the oppressors.
It’s the sort of racial profiling and racial scapegoating that turns neighbors against neighbors. It needs to stop.
Contrary to Bailey’s lies, not a single person has requested civil-rights history not be taught.
Parents are simply demanding that teachers stick to historical facts and refrain from singling out any racial group of students as responsible for the suffering or inequities of any other racial group of students.
Instead of burying his face in the public trough, Bailey should be lobbying for some measure of accountability in public education.
The same schools that are immersing students in CRT ideology and demented LGBTQ+ gender-bender propaganda have failed miserably in teaching the basics. When fewer than 40% of Maine fourth-graders are proficient at grade level in reading, we have a problem. And it’s a problem that’s getting worse, not better.
Our legislators should be passing a Teachers’ Code of Ethics and a Parents’ Bill of Rights — and putting cameras in the classroom, not focusing on a proposal to weaponize the penal code against parents.
We have one day to make our voices heard before the Criminal Justice committee votes on LD 1939.
There is no time to spare.
Please take action today. Call the clerk’s office at 207-287-1122 and ask them to inform every committee member of your opposition.
Call the clerk and let your voice be heard!
Maine moms and dads have a right to know what’s going on in the classroom without being bullied into silence by a statute that puts a club into the hands of the teachers’ union bosses. Parents have the responsibility to mind their children’s futures. And they deserve to be heard.
Anything less than a NO vote on LD 1939 is simply unacceptable and will be remembered come November.
Thank you for your support and patriotism. Together we will restore Maine to The Way Life Should Be.
Sincerely,
Hon. Lawrence Lockman
Maine House of Representatives, 2012-2020
Co-founder & President
