The plot sickens in the Augusta swamp: GOP legislators bow down to Identity Politics

Why aren’t House Republicans taking any action against the nasty Leftist bigot Charlotte Warren?

Why is Warren getting a pass after spewing her contempt for heterosexual white men?
Try to imagine what would have happened two weeks ago if a member of the Maine House of Representatives used the “N” word in a social media post about Rep. Rachel Talbot Ross.

Or if a member used a social media platform to hurl a homosexual slur at Speaker of the House Ryan Fecteau.

You know exactly what would have happened!

If the offending member refused to resign immediately, within days the House would convene to consider an expulsion order under Article IV, Part Third, Section 4 of the Maine Constitution.

That provision empowers the House of Representatives to…

…”punish its members for disorderly behavior, and with the concurrence of 2/3, expel a member, but not a 2nd time for the same cause.”

As you know, Rep. Charlotte Warren of Hallowell unleashed a racist, sexist, heterophobic rant on Facebook back on July 1 of this year. So far, Warren has suffered no consequences for trashing “straight white dudes.”

As I write this on Saturday evening, it appears that House GOP leadership is going to give sweet Charlotte a pass. It’s a freedom of speech issue, don’t you know.

Of course, you and I know that’s rubbish. This isn’t about freedom of speech, it’s about identity politics.

White heterosexual men are the “oppressor class”, so they can be maligned all day long.

BIPOCs and the LGBTQ+ crowd are members of the downtrodden “oppressed” class, so they are free to insult the oppressors.

The entire sordid spectacle fits neatly into the Critical Race Theory narrative, with its “privileged” and “targeted” identities, and its hierarchy of victimhood.

I’m writing to warn you that the pressure inside the swamp on House Republicans is to follow their leader, Rep. Kathleen Dillingham. She is flat-out opposed to an expulsion order, and said so to members of her caucus in an email on Wednesday, July 14.

We had reason to believe that assistant minority leader Joel Stetkis was serious when he agreed last week to sponsor an expulsion order. But when Dillingham sent her email blast to members on Wednesday, Joel suddenly lost his nerve.

It looks like Kathleen water-boarded him, or took him down to the deep end of the swamp and held his head under. Very sad.

Here’s how a freshman Republican Rep from Belgrade responded to a constituent who asked him if GOP leaders were going to deal with Warren’s racist rant:

“The speaker of the house has spoken with her and the matter is now closed.”   Rep. Dan Newman…July 17, 2021, 3:13 pm.

Are you kidding me??

The Speaker hath spoken, and all the people bowed down and said “Amen!”

Here’s what I’m asking you to do:Call the House GOP office at (207) 287-1440 on Monday morning to insist that the House GOP caucus put pressure on its leaders to move forward with an expulsion order.

If you haven’t already done so, you can sign the petition calling for Warren to be expelled from the House.

And it wouldn’t hurt to contact Joel Stetkis and encourage him to keep his word: (207) 399-7801, jrs2014@outlook.com

Stay tuned, you will hear from us again bright and early on Monday morning, to update you on the latest news from deep within the Swamp!

Best Regards,

Hon. Lawrence Lockman, R-Bradley

PS   Please accept my apology for sending this on Sunday morning.

As I write this around 10 pm Saturday night, I wanted to communicate this to you right away so you wouldn’t be blindsided early Monday morning.

We’re in big trouble if we can’t find even a handful of legislators who are willing to push forward with a vote to expel this nasty Leftist bigot.

Make sure your Representative knows this is absolutely unacceptable.

No excuses!

And if you’re able, consider chipping in with $10, $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can afford to support our work at Maine First Project. Your support will enable our team to continue reaching and mobilizing more Mainers to hold their legislators accountable.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
