Just how widespread is the gender-bender madness that plagues Maine’s K-12 government-run schools?
How many of Maine’s 224 school districts have actually adopted radical “gender identity” policies that allow mentally ill boys to relieve themselves in the girls’ restroom and compete as girls in athletic contests?
The Augusta-based, taxpayer-funded Maine School Management Association and the woke, Portland-based Drummond Woodsum law firm have been pushing these dangerous and demented policies on school boards for the better part of the past decade.
Given that history, you may be surprised at the relatively small number of districts that have caved in to the relentless pressure applied by legions of lawyers and lobbyists.
Would you believe that as of June of last year, just 38 of Maine’s 224 school districts have adopted the MSMA-endorsed “Transgender and Gender Expansive Students” policy? That’s fewer than 17 percent of Maine school districts.
That number is even smaller today, in the wake of several more districts rescinding the policy since the first of this year:

RSU 24: Eastbrook, Franklin, Gouldsboro, Mariaville, Steuben, Sorrento, Sullivan, Waltham, Winter Harbor

Other districts have opted to align their policies with President Trump’s Title IX executive order:
RSU 73: Jay, Livermore, Livermore Falls
MSAD 52: Greene, Leeds, Turner
MSAD 70: Amity, Cary Plantation, Haynesville, Hodgdon, Linneus, Ludlow, New Limerick
Even leftist Lewiston has made a feeble attempt to align with Orange Man:

Looking now at the big picture….
To the best of my knowledge, the first crack in the armor of the transgender supremacist lobby appeared on November 1, 2022 in South Paris, when over 300 people showed up at a public forum to discuss the Oxford Hills school board’s decision a month earlier to adopt the MSMA-endorsed “Transgender and Gender Expansive Students” policy.
The crowd was overwhelmingly opposed to the policy. Read all about it here: Huge Turnout at Public Forum Whacks Gender-Bender Policy – Maine First Project.
At its next meeting, on December 5th, the MSAD 17 school board reversed itself and indefinitely postponed the policy on its second reading, effectively killing the measure.
Parents and taxpayers initiated a recall campaign to remove both of the South Paris board members who voted for the transgender policy. At that point, Maine First Project’s supporters and donors stepped up to spearhead the recall with three rounds of hard-hitting direct mail, hundreds of phone calls and text messages, and a half-page ad in the local weekly newspaper.
The campaign culminated with a special election on January 10, 2023, when voters approved the recall by a wide margin.
That victory was a metaphorical shot across the bow of the trans cultists and their allies in the Nanny State Non-Profit Industrial Complex. The message was clear: the silent majority of Mainers is no longer silent and no longer curled up in the fetal position.
Within months of the Oxford Hills victory, other districts began to break ranks with the cultists:

If all this sounds like “too much winning,” believe me, it’s not. Now more than ever, we need to build on the momentum of our victories.
Our team at Maine First Project is excited about the November 4th elections this year, when scores of school board seats are up for grabs across the state. We’re still selecting our targets. In any case, we need to build a campaign war chest to ensure that we can compete in as many of these districts as possible.
Your generous gift of $25, $50, $75, $100 — or whatever you can afford — will go a long way toward flipping school board seats in districts where they need to be flipped. To chip in for the battles ahead, click HERE.
Can we count on you? I hope so. Please feel free to shoot me an email or give me a call at (207-460-6518) if you have any questions.
