Black attorney: I’m lucky white cops didn’t kill me during Cumberland traffic stop.

June 4, 2021 – This past Tuesday, June 1st, marked the one-year anniversary of mob violence and looting in Portland, Maine, by the local chapter of the militantly Marxist criminal street gang Black Lives Matter.

I don’t mean to be an alarmist, but…

It appears that all the combustible elements are once again in place for the BLM thugs to stage another mini-Minneapolis.

Based on their experience last June, rioters know they have a free pass to loot local businesses in Portland. And they can throw rocks, bricks, and bottles of urine at police officers without any fear of prosecution.

Right now, it wouldn’t take much to ignite another round of mob violence. An accusation of racial profiling, real or imagined. A jury verdict that displeases the mob. Or just about any allegation of police misconduct, no matter how spurious, could be the spark.

If and when that accusation surfaces, it may look something like this.

Last September, a black attorney with the Portland law firm Bernstein Shur alleged she was the victim of racial bias during two traffic stops in early 2019 when she was a Cumberland resident.

Krystal Williams didn’t file a complaint at the time, but when the Cumberland police chief learned that Williams’ accusation had been published in the September 2020 Maine Bar Journal, he immediately contacted her and asked if she wanted to file a formal complaint with the department.

So she did just that — nearly two years after the alleged police misconduct.

And exactly what did she allege?

She claimed that being stopped by a white police officer for having a license plate light out was racially motivated. Another time, when she was stopped on her way to the gym — again, by a white police officer — she was offended that the officer asked her if she had a gun.

Her claims of racial harassment were investigated by the Augusta police department, which found no evidence of any violation of state law or department policy. The state Attorney General’s office agreed with those findings. And to date, attorney Williams hasn’t sued anyone for violating her civil rights.

Here’s what’s really scary about this bogus bias claim.

She referred to her encounters with the white cops in Cumberland as instances of “systemic racism,” and believes she’s lucky she wasn’t killed.

You read that correctly. Williams feels “blessed and privileged” that her encounters with racist cops didn’t result in bodily harm or death.

She claims that “the habits of thought and action made by each of the White men in the [Cumberland traffic stops]…are the very same habits of thought and action that, when left unchecked, result in an officer kneeling on George Floyd’s neck for eight minutes.”

Excuse me, but that’s delusional! In fact, that’s industrial-strength delusional.

But it’s just the sort of delusional thinking that’s now accepted as normal by the pampered progressives who dominate state government and Maine’s very Fake News media outlets, not to mention the legions of woke K-12 teachers in government-run schools across the state.

In a way, Williams did us all a favor by invoking the “systemic racism” bogeyman under these circumstances. Here’s why.

Her baseless allegation against the Cumberland cops exposes the Left’s charge of “systemic racism” for what it really is: a monstrous lie. There is not a shred of evidence that America is a racist nation, or that white people are inherently racist.

When you can’t find actual racism, you wail about “systemic racism” or “institutional racism” or “structural racism.” No evidence required, just make the charge.

If Williams had alleged that she was walking down the street in Cumberland when she was attacked by a swarm of cooties or pterodactyls, it would be obvious that she is suffering from mental illness. And if she persisted, and refused treatment, she would eventually lose her license to practice law.

William’s claim of racism is a transparent fraud. She was no more victimized by “systemic racism” than she was by an imaginary swarm of cooties or pterodactyls. Her claim is altogether delusional, just as surely as the racism charge is delusional when it’s uttered by pandering politicians or BLM thugs.

I say it’s about time we stop giving these vicious lunatics the benefit of the doubt. Williams is no dummy. She doesn’t suffer from a room-temperature IQ. She knows exactly what she’s doing. So why do we pretend that she’s sincere?

Why do we shy away from publicly shaming these character assassins and racial arsonists?

Here’s the bottom line for me going forward:

People who claim victim status attributed to “systemic racism” are either liars or mentally ill or brainwashed — or perhaps all three. Above all, they’re very dangerous. Their false allegations, seized on and amplified by the ever-present “cancel culture,” have already ruined many reputations and destroyed countless livelihoods.

As I said, it wouldn’t take much to ignite another round of mob violence such as what took place last June in Portland, Maine. False charges of racial bias against police could be the spark for the next “peaceful protest” that turns into a riot.

Under these conditions, anyone who plays with matches needs to be publicly shamed.

So please, Krystal, put the matches away, get some professional counseling, and shut up.

You’re welcome!
