Do-Nothing GOP Legislators Embolden Woke K-12 Propagandists

November 29, 2021 –

Maine parents pushing back against the brainwashing of their children in Maine’s K-12 government-run schools have encountered a roadblock.

Would you believe the obstructionists are do-nothing Republican legislators?

I know you may be tempted to respond, “So what else is new, Larry?”

You know as well as I do that nobody ever went broke underestimating the political courage of most GOP lawmakers in Augusta. For way too many of them, Priority Number One is getting re-elected, so they’re generally wary of any controversial issue that might put them in a negative spotlight by the Fake News media.

Simply put, they’re more afraid of woke reporters and editors than they are of you and me — their constituents.

Hampden parent and taxpayer Shawn McBreairty, our Director of Special Projects, recently ran into this roadblock with his state legislators, but he’s not letting that obstacle slow him down. In fact, he cleared the hurdle and is well on his way to the finish line.

You can help ensure that our team at Maine First Project has the resources we need to continue shining a bright light into the darkest corners of the K-12 swamp. Whether it’s $10, $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can afford, your gift will be put to good use in this fight.

Shawn exposed the racist, anti-American ideology that permeates classrooms in Regional School Unit 22 (comprised of Hampden, Newburgh, Winterport, and Frankfort). This malignant ideology is called Critical Race Theory, but the geniuses who run RSU 22 call it Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The ideological indoctrination is disturbing enough, but Shawn also uncovered what can best be described as demented LGBTQ+ gender-bender propaganda.

One of the books on the RSU 22 recommended reading list for middle schoolers celebrates 13-year-old drag queens.

When Shawn asked his state legislators for their help pushing back against the Leftist/Transgender agenda in RSU 22, here’s what he heard.

From Rep. David Haggan (R-Hampden), the sound of silence.

And from Sen. Stacey Guerin (R-Glenburn): “This is a local issue.”

But it’s NOT just a local issue! It’s much bigger than that. Race-based identity politics and LGBTQ+ propaganda are the rule rather than the exception in Maine’s K-12 government-run schools from Kittery to Fort Kent.

Every year, RSU 22 in Hampden pulls down millions of dollars in state subsidies from Maine taxpayers — over $20 million this year alone!

What’s more, the Maine Department of Education (MDOE) spews out “professional development” webinars — paid for by Maine taxpayers — that encourage teachers to inquire into students’ race, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Students in turn are encouraged to share their various identities with classmates.

And it’s curious that both Rep. Haggan and Sen. Guerin voted for a bill earlier this year that would have outlawed the teaching of CRT, defined as singling out one racial group of students as responsible for the suffering or inequities of another racial group of students.

Had it passed, LD 550 would have required teachers in Maine’s K-12 public schools to present both sides of any controversial issue — something that’s not happening in the woke classrooms of RSU 22.

Clearly, Sen. Guerin understands that what’s going on in the classrooms of RSU 22 is much more than a “local issue.” She would have opposed LD 550 if she thinks K-12 indoctrination is strictly a local matter unworthy of a state senator’s attention.

What I’m asking you to do is contact these legislators and ask them to stand up for Maine parents and taxpayers.

Many of the concerned parents in RSU 22 and elsewhere are hesitant to speak up for fear of retaliation against their children. And then there’s the intimidation factor that comes into play anytime a layman challenges the credentialed “experts” in the field of education.

If parents can’t count on their state legislators to take a stand on what appears to be educational malpractice in our state-subsidized K-12 public schools, what’s the point of sending these people to Augusta?

You can reach Rep. David Haggan at dhaggan@gmail.com or (207) 944-7471.

You can reach Sen. Stacey Guerin at repguerin@gmail.com or (207) 249-0472.

As always, thanks for all you do every day to make Maine great again!

Best Regards,

Hon. Lawrence Lockman, R-Bradley

PS

With Shawn McBreairty at the helm of our Forgotten Parents Initiative, we expect that program to achieve new levels of success in the weeks and months ahead. The idea is to reach and mobilize Maine parents who’ve been shoved aside by the woke elites who dominate public education.

As our Director of Special Projects, Shawn is taking no prisoners in his fight to expose the Leftist/LGBTQ+ propaganda in which our children and grandchildren are being immersed in Maine’s government-run K-12 schools.

You can help ensure we have the resources we need for this campaign by chipping in with $10, $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can afford to Maine First Project. Our kids and grandkids are counting on us.

Thanks again for being a Maine patriot.
