I’m reaching out to invite you to a webinar on illegal immigration next week.
First, I want to comment briefly on a recent Bangor Daily News article about Maine First Project’s political and policy work in Regional School Unit (RSU) 24, comprised of Gouldsboro and neighboring towns in Hancock and Washington Counties.
Gender-bender extremists on the RSU 24 school board and in the superintendent’s office just won’t give up their campaign to force female students to share toilet and shower facilities with mentally ill boys pretending to be girls.
The BDN story identified Maine First Project as the only conservative group that invested in a direct mail campaign in RSU 24 school board elections in March of last year, helping flip the board from leaning hard left to leaning right.
As we hoped and expected, the new board promptly rescinded the district’s open-door transgender policy and ratified a new policy aligned with Title IX and biological reality – much to the dismay of the sore losers.
We’ll keep you posted on developments in RSU 24.

During my four terms in the Legislature, I worked closely with FAIR on legislation to defund Maine’s sanctuary cities. That battle will resume when the new Legislature convenes in January.
Nicholas Softy, FAIR’s Field Outreach Manager, will discuss practical plans and strategies to stop illegal migration into Maine, the costs of current open-door policies, and how state and local action can complement federal enforcement.
The presentation will last about 20 minutes, followed by Q&A.
This is not abstract policy talk. Illegal immigration hugely impacts Medicaid spending, housing availability, school overcrowding, emergency services, and public safety right here in Maine. FAIR has long documented the national picture; now Maine First brings that fight home.
