How in the world did Maine turn into a woke wasteland ruled by diversity fascists?
As you probably noticed, that radical transformation happened gradually – and then very suddenly.
Our once-proud state, that helped elect Ronald Reagan president, is now home to some of the most radical leftists in the country. We have elected socialist tyrants to public office, and they do the bidding of an alphabet soup of aggrieved special-interest victim groups.
These neo-Marxist revolutionaries have declared war on Maine’s culture, economy, and constitutional system. Aided and abetted by their allies in academia and the media, they have already done enormous damage to our Maine way of life.
But it doesn’t have to be this way!
Maine First Project was founded in 2015 to counter the leftward lurch of the past half-century. We are training a grassroots army of activists to fight fire with fire in the culture wars that rage around us. That peaceful and patriotic army of activists has racked up some impressive victories:
- Initiated a statewide direct-mail campaign in the fall of 2023 to derail Gov. Janet Mills plan to attract 75,000 illegal immigrants to settle in Maine at taxpayer expense
- Flipped 11 of 14 targeted school board seats in four districts across the state on June 13, 2023
- Blanketed House District 45 with mailers supporting self-employed commercial fisherman Abden Simmons of Waldoboro in his successful bid to win the June 13, 2023 special election for the Maine House of Representatives
- Led the successful campaign in January, 2023 to recall two woke school board members who pushed a radical “gender identity” policy in the Oxford Hills School district
- Mobilized opposition in February, 2022 to defeat LD 1939, the proposed gag order on parents at school board meetings
- Hosted immigration expert and former Trump administration director of ICE Mark Morgan for an Augusta speaking engagement in April 2022
- Forced roll call votes in 2021 on LD 926, to ban boys who pretend to be girls from competing in girls’ sports
- Made K-12 brainwashing an issue in 2019 with the introduction of LD 589 to ban political, religious, and ideological indoctrination in K-12 classrooms
- Forced a roll call vote in 2017 on LD 366, to cut off state funding to any municipality that harbors illegal immigrants
- Led the grassroots campaign to defeat Rep. Jeff McCabe in his bid for a seat in the state Senate in 2016, Maine First Project’s first election cycle
- Pushed LD 1652, a Governor’s bill introduced in 2016 to shut down harboring havens for illegal immigrants; Rep. Jeff McCabe tabled the bill without a public hearing
Be wary of regular exposure to the propaganda spewed by Maine’s Fake News outlets. It can quickly induce a state of pessimism and paralysis. That’s why it’s so important to remember the victories. With each passing day, more and more Mainers are waking up to the treachery of the cultural Marxists who dominate state government, academia, the K-12 swamp, and the Nanny State Non-Profit Industrial Complex.
The slumbering giant is stirring, and the no-longer silent majority is finding its voice at last.
